Perhaps we should all be willing to freely donate to good causes that help preserve nature without expecting any reward, but still it's even nicer when you get something back in return.

Artists Saving Forests gives you the chance to do both, to help preserve protected forests in Lithuania, while at the same time receiving a digital version of beautiful artworks created by a various Lithuanian and international visual artists, who have donated digital rights to their works to the project.

All of the proceeds from sales go directly to the Ancient Woods Foundation, which works to protect and preserve forests across Lithuania that are untouched by human activity. You can learn more about the foundation at www.sengiresfondas.lt/en/

In exchange for a small donation of €10 you can buy a digital version of any of the artworks, which you can use digitally as a wallpaper, or print and use for, well whatever non-commercial use you like really.

Eglė Plytnikaitė, an illustrator and the creator of Artists Saving Forests, explains where the project idea came from:

"I believe that art is an extremely powerful tool. It influences our culture, economy and worldview. It has no language barriers and shapes our future. I’ve been looking for new ways to use this powerful tool for good and that’s how Artists Saving Forests was born. These artworks not only speak about the importance of wild, untouched nature in our lives but also directly help save it. On our warming planet, primary forests and their biodiversity are the biggest treasure and I hope that Artists Saving Forests will help to preserve at least a tiny bit of this treasure."
