This Year, Tallinn University has decided to make April 'Green Month', focusing the whole month on sustainable development, and supporting its students, academic, administrative, and technical staff, as well as the society as a whole to address social, cultural, economic, health-related, and environmental issues.

A wide series of online events have been organized by the university's Student Union with the aim of celebrating sustainability and addressing social, cultural, economic, health-related and environmental issues that are related to it. These events are not only for students and staff of the university, and can be attended by everyone. The intention is to raise awareness, educate, and encourage people to take action.

The University community is diverse and international, made up or more than 7,500 students from 70 countries, and all of the events will be held in English. They will also include a number of special guests from across the world who will share their knowledge and insight on sustainability and environmental issues.

There will be a variety of formats including workshops, movie screenings, and they will cover topics including eating sustainably, living with less, responsible consumerism, upcycling, reducing your plastic waste, making your own cosmetics, and the benefits of bees.

There is also a focus on mental and physical health as crucial parts of well-being and sustainability, especially during the current pandemic, and Green Month will address that by organizing panels for nurturing well-being mentally and physically

Katerina Chantzi, a masters student and the project manager for Green Month, explains what she hopes to achieve this April. "My vision for Green Month is to organize impactful and meaningful activities for everyone so that the environmental action will not stop on the 30th of April but each participant can learn something and put it into action in their lives afterwards and define their own sustainability path in their everyday life. "
